Baby We're Back!
About two years ago we embarked on a project with the QEII Hospital to create and display portraits of some of the babies born there. The purpose was to help decorate and brighten up the hallway walls of the maternity as well as the labour and delivery wards. So we offered complimentary newborn sessions to the staff of Alberta Health Services that were expecting and then we created large wall portraits. We really enjoyed the opportunity getting to know the AHS staff and their families at such a special time in their lives and we got great feedback from staff and those that had the chance to participate.
So two years have passed, a friend was in the hospital recently having her baby girl and I went to visit, she pulled out her cell phone and asked me if I could do a photo like this. The photo turned out to be one of our images from the hall display. So I saw it as a sign and decided to speak to the QEII to see if we could start up the project again. After some discussions and a little red tape, we are now ready to start photographing the staff and their precious new babies.
If you know anyone who is having a baby and who is a AHS employee (or married to one) please make sure to share this post with them or pass along a link to our website at Ramsay and Winsor Photography so they can contact us for more information about the Baby Project.
