For the last few years we have been doing work for STARS, for those that don't know STARS) Air Ambulance saves lives, they operate a fleet of air ambulances from several bases in western Canada.

We attend their major fundraiser every year and photograph the speakers, the entertainment and the auctions. We get to listen to the stories told by people who would not be alive if it were not for STARS. We have met people who have survived industrial accidents, animal attacks, highway accidents and more scenarios than you could imagine.

The stories are amazing and heart breaking.  But the people telling the stories have survived because no other service, ground ambulance or local care could have provided the speed and level of service that STARS provides.

The thing about STARS is that it is not government funded. It is all supported by fundraising and corporate support. The images in this blog post were done for VIP ( very important patients) features on their web site and in their calendar.
The calendar is one of their ongoing fundraising campaigns. Get out and buy one the life they save maybe someone you know.
I have a friend who was saved by STARS and I have seen how many lives they have touched.
